optoNCDT 1910 – Long-Range Laser Displacement Sensor for Large Measuring Distances

The optoNCDT 1910 from Micro-Epsilon is a laser displacement sensor for fast, precise non-contact measurement across large distances in demanding industrial applications. Built on the triangulation principle, it combines high accuracy with generous standoff, using a high-performance optical system that projects a small light spot onto the target to reliably detect even the smallest of components. The integrated controller and pigtail cable keep installation effort to a minimum. Available in 500 mm and 750 mm measuring ranges, the sensor delivers linearity down to +/-0.07 % of full scale and repeatability from 20 um. The measuring rate is continuously adjustable between 0.25 and 9.5 kHz, allowing the sensor to be tuned to each application. A class 2 semiconductor laser at 670 nm, Advanced Surface Compensation and high resistance to ambient light of up to 10,000 lx together enable dependable readings on reflecting and challenging surfaces. Distance data is output through an RS422 digital interface, EtherCAT, PROFINET or EtherNet/IP, plus freely scalable analog voltage and current outputs and two switching outputs. Housed in a rugged IP65 aluminium enclosure and drawing less than 3 W, the sensor is configured through an intuitive web interface offering application-specific presets, peak selection, averaging and data reduction.
