The inertial Labs OptoAHRS (Optically Enhanced Attitude and Heading Reference System) is the amalgamation of inertial sensor and optical image tracking technology. This gives a compact, low power consuming system which is not only robust but also a reliable 3DOF orientation module that can work in any environment. It also adds to the advantage of making the device resilient against magnetic interference changes in the environment.
The OptoAHRS system uses reference images in the horizon or the environment linearly and identifies a constellation of visual features, which is then compared with the reference point.
The presence and merger of two technologies acts as a compensation for each other’s drawbacks to provide a self-checking and highly-calibrated system.
It is this high-precision and error-eliminating system that makes Optically Enhanced Attitude and Heading Reference System capable for a myriad of applications.
