New Large Range Laser Scanners for Conveyor Belt Monitoring

Bestech Australia is pleased to introduce the new large-range laser scanners into the scanCONTROL product portfolio. The new scanCONTROL LLT30xx series from Micro-Epsilon offers enhanced 2D/3D laser line profile sensing capabilities. With the addition of two new models, the scanCONTROL LLT30xx-430 and the LLT30xx-600, the scanCONTROL scanner can now measure up to 560 x 390 mm and 788 x 610 mm, respectively. This expansion allows for more precise and comprehensive profile measurements across various surfaces, making these sensors particularly valuable in multiple industrial sectors, including automation, machine manufacturing, quality assurance, and production and process monitoring.

Renowned for their high performance, the Micro-Epsilon laser line profile scanners are at the industry’s forefront regarding accuracy and measurement rate. The new scanCONTROL laser profile scanners stand out for their expansive measuring range. This advancement means that measurement tasks requiring multiple sensors such as conveyor belt monitoring applications can now be efficiently accomplished with just one of these new models.

The scanCONTROL scanners measure 2D profile data at high speed, up to 10kHz, with up to 9.6 million points per second. They feature an integrated controller and multiple interface options (Profinet, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP), ensuring seamless integration into production lines and machinery. The sensors also have advanced exposure control, allowing precise measurements even in dynamic, high-speed processes. A high-resolution sensor matrix, with 2,048 points per profile, accurately captures fine surface and geometrical details.

ScanCONTROL profile scanners offer various operational modes to suit specific measurement tasks. The ‘High Dynamic Range’ (HDR) mode is ideal for achieving stable profile measurements on challenging or dark surfaces. In this mode, different rows of the sensor matrix are exposed simultaneously, preventing time lags in recordings and enabling accurate measurements of moving objects.
