The Meggitt 6245 piezoelectric accelerometers are used to measure vibration in a very high temperature environment such as aircraft and ground-based gas turbines. They can withstand continuous operation at 815C and are one of the very few accelerometers available to do so. Due to their compact size, they can be installed in cramped locations with minimal structural support. The piezoelectric accelerometer features MC2 shear mode crystal along with a sensitive axis and has the sensing elements and integral shield isolated from the case. The connector can also withstand high temperature operation up to 482C.
