ILR104x – Compact Laser Distance Sensor for Industrial Automation

The optoNCDT ILR104x from Micro-Epsilon is a laser-optical distance sensor designed for industrial distance measurement in automation applications such as presence detection and collision monitoring. Using the time-of-flight measuring principle, it delivers accurate, reliable and reproducible results regardless of surface texture, dark object colours or ambient light. The sensor achieves measuring ranges up to 10 metres without reflector film and 60 or 150 metres with the ILR-RF250 reflector film, at a resolution of 1 mm and a measuring rate adjustable up to 333 Hz. A class 1 semiconductor laser operating at 660 nm keeps the sensor safe to use without special precautions, while resistance to 50,000 lx ambient light and a wide operating range of -30 to +60 degrees Celsius suit demanding conditions. A robust polycarbonate housing rated IP67, IP69 and IP69K, combined with a weight of just 37 g, ensures dependable performance in harsh industrial environments. The sensor can be put into operation quickly via the IO-Link 1.1 interface and offers 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V analog outputs, a configurable push-pull switching output and selectable operating modes including single measurement, external triggering, distance tracking and continuous measurement. A rotatable cable outlet and compact, lightweight design allow installation in confined, difficult-to-access locations.
