The optoNCDT 1760 (ILD1760-1000) from Micro-Epsilon is a long-range laser triangulation displacement sensor for non-contact distance and position measurement in demanding industrial applications. Built for tasks that require both a large stand-off and a wide measuring range, it measures across a 1,000 mm range from a start distance of 1,000 mm, reaching targets up to 2 m away while maintaining high accuracy on difficult surfaces.
Innovative evaluation algorithms and a high-performance optical system generate a small light spot that reliably detects even the smallest of components. The sensor provides a measuring rate adjustable across six stages up to 7.5 kHz, linearity better than +/- 0.1 % FSO and repeatability of 100 um. A Class 2 semiconductor laser operating at 670 nm produces the visible red measuring beam, and the sensor remains resistant to ambient light up to 10,000 lx. An integrated controller and pigtail cable keep installation effort to a minimum, while the rugged IP65 aluminium housing withstands shock and vibration on the factory floor.
Distance data is available through a 16-bit RS422 output, freely scalable analog voltage and current outputs, and Industrial Ethernet interfaces including EtherCAT, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP, allowing straightforward integration into plant and machine control systems. Setup, presets and averaging are configured through the function keys or the built-in web interface.
