The HSM11 Combined bending and torsion apparatus is training equipment that enables students to perform experiments based on theories of elastic failure. It comes with three different types of test specimens of mild steel, aluminum alloy, and brass. These specimens are subjected to several ratios of bending and torsion simultaneously to cause elastic failure. To measure the deflection is measured by a dial gauge mounted diametrically opposite the load point. The results obtained from the experiment can be compared with the theoretical estimations.
