    The eddyNCDT 3020 from Micro-Epsilon is an inductive eddy current measuring system for precise non-contact displacement and position measurement in demanding industrial series applications. Combining a powerful controller with an extensive sensor portfolio, it delivers high resolution and reliably detects fast movements with high precision. Its robust, compact design and flexible connection and configuration options make it well suited to machine integration and harsh environments such as welding, steel rolling and die casting. The system covers measuring ranges from 1 to 80 mm against steel and aluminium targets, with static resolution down to 0.004 % FSO and linearity better than 0.2 % FSO. An analog measuring rate of 80 kSa/s and a frequency response of 5 kHz capture rapid dynamic events, while temperature stability of 0.025 % FSO/K holds accuracy across the compensated range. The sensor withstands ambient temperatures up to 200 C and the controller up to 105 C, so the complete measuring channel can operate at high process temperatures. Digital and analog interfaces transmit the processed signal reliably over long distances. The controller offers a 4 to 20 mA analog output alongside RS485, EtherCAT, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP interfaces, plus selectable NPN, PNP and push-pull switching outputs for limit value monitoring. Setup is straightforward using the sensorTOOL software, which provides 3-point linearization, customizable output scaling, filtering and averaging.
