The DL ELMACLAB is an electric machines laboratory from De Lorenzo for teaching how motors, generators and transformers convert and transform electrical energy. It is a laboratory for 30 students, built from reconfigurable elements that let students work on real industrial equipment through hardware and software tools. It suits electrical, mechatronics, electrical and electronics and mechanical engineering courses, and training for industrial maintenance, electrical and industrial electrical technicians.
The laboratory is organised around a professor station and student stations. The professor station has a desk, computer, printer and interactive whiteboard, with classroom management software for the smart simulators. Student stations include four DL OPENLAB-A automatic electric machines laboratories, a smart simulator for electric machines training, two transformer benches, two motor automation benches and DL EM-TEST automatic test benches.
Machine sets at the 1 kW rating cover three-phase asynchronous motors (squirrel cage, slip ring and two-speed), single-phase motors, DC motors, DC generators and three-phase synchronous machines with a reluctance motor. The proposal includes 112 practical experiences, 110 hours of theoretical lessons and 55 hours of practical lessons, and it can be adjusted to fit the needs of the institution.
