710B – Computer-controlled electrical test panel with remote fault activation
The 710B is a computer-controlled electrical test panel for electrotechnology assessment. Students use it to find and verify faults in a low voltage domestic installation with three-phase circuits and a sub main. The panel design follows AS/NZS 3000:2018. It supports the practical assessment of competency in UEEEL0039, which supersedes UEENEEG105A. The unit title is Design, install and verify compliance and functionality of general electrical installations. Courses under the current or the previous electrotechnology training package can both use the panel.
The instructor applies faults from the integrated 10-inch touch screen. The panel needs no laptop or external software. When the panel connects to a network by WiFi or Ethernet, the instructor can also apply faults from a browser through the embedded web server. One PC can operate several panels at the same time. The instructor groups faults into sequences, stores up to ten on each panel and recalls them with one touch. This lets each student receive a different fault scenario. If the power drops during an assessment, the panel remembers the active faults and re-applies them after the next login.
An alternative energy input, associated switchgear and an independent earth terminal let students practise isolation on a system with more than one energy source, such as solar. The 710B is designed and manufactured in Australia, and it comes as a bench-mounted unit or on a full-height stand. Wall-mounting bracket sets are also available. Bestech Australia supplies the 710B with on-site training and commissioning support available.
