The Tactilus Bodyfitter uses a matrix-based tactile surface sensor that acts as an electronic skin to record and measure pressure distribution and magnitude between the two contacting surfaces. The data can be transmitted wirelessly into a Windows-based data analysis software.
The Tactilus Bodyfitter system allows the wheelchair manufacturers, outfitters and retailers to measure pressure distribution and contact magnitude between the patient and the seating surface. It is equipped with advanced mathematical algorithm to identify restricted blood flow from unbalanced pressure distribution, which is the primary cause of bed sores in low-mobility patients.
