The inertialLabs OptoWOM-II is a robust and reliable 3DOF orientation module that combines inertial sensors with optical image tracking technology. It is designed for operation in virtually any environment and can be mounted directly to a device under measurement. It doesn't require any magnetic calibration and can operate with both optical and magnetic heading determination. The low-power module’s optical tracking feature uses reference pictures to determine the heading by comparing the images collected by the camera back to the most appropriate reference. The system also uses this optical data to continuously check results against magnetic heading information and dynamically calibrates the device against magnetic interferences present in the environment.
