An optoNCDT ILR2250-100 sensor detects the coils using phase comparison and tracks them precisely, ensuring that the uncoiling process runs smoothly and at high quality. The sensor follows a simple working principle, it continuously measures the distance to the coil from the mounted position. When the coil unwinds, the diameter decreases and leads to an increase in the distance. This change in distance is detected by the sensor, and then measured values are transmitted to the control system for evaluation.
