Measuring the zinc strip color in production

The material used to produce punched, bent, or deep-drawn components is the same one used to create filters, electronic components, and other industrial products. This raw material, which can be steel or aluminum, is coated for purposes of refinement and then shaped into a long strip. H.D.Lenzen specializes in the field of surface finishing for strip materials and has spent years perfecting the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel and aluminum strips. This protects them from corrosion and wear over time, keeping your product safe for its life cycle.

Most of all, the strip can receive the desired color through this zinc coating. However, it is essential to make sure that the color is consistent and the product is of high quality. In such cases, visual and manual inspections are not very effective. Thus, Micro-Epsilon colorCONTROL ACS7000 aids in the manufacturing process. With its ability to measure and control color shades with an accuracy of ∆E < 0.1, it contributes to ensuring consistent products manufactured over an entire batch — improving the quality of the product and reducing costs. This color measuring sensor is installed on a traversing unit. Besides, the system contains an ACS1 sensor head and integration with software designed by the official system partner of Micro-Epsilon.
