About Bestech Australia
Bestech Australia was founded in Melbourne in 2002 and has grown into one of the leading providers of sensors, instrumentation, technical teaching equipment and automation solutions in Australia and New Zealand. Our head office, workshop and warehouse are in Melbourne, with sales and support staff based around Australia and New Zealand.
We specialise in sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition systems for the test and measurement of physical parameters such as displacement, temperature, pressure, acceleration, vibration, colour, level, force, strain and material properties. A measurement solution from Bestech can be a single sensor or a complete turnkey system, depending on what the application needs.
For education, Bestech Australia supplies technical trades and engineering teaching equipment for disciplines such as electrotechnology, automotive, smart manufacturing, hydraulics and pneumatics, avionics, instrumentation and control, renewable energy, refrigeration and HVAC, and a range of engineering courses. Our 710B electrotechnology testing panels are manufactured in our Melbourne workshop. The equipment is designed for hands-on, industry-aligned training.
We source equipment from established international technology partners and support it with our own engineers in Australia, from specifying the right instrument through to commissioning and after-sales service. Our customers include manufacturing, defence, mining, rail, construction, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and water businesses, as well as university laboratories and research institutions.
Strategic Growth
In 2024, Bestech Australia moved into industrial electrical protection with the acquisition of Transtech. Transtech added explosion-protected enclosures, surge protection devices, proximity sensors and encoders to the group’s range, which strengthened our position with switchboard manufacturers, control panel builders, automation integrators and mining operations.
In 2025, we expanded into process instrumentation through the acquisition of Measurement Solutions, an Australian supplier of process sensors, explosion-protected switches and asset protection devices such as rupture discs and pressure relief valves. With Measurement Solutions in the group, we can deliver precision measurement systems, industrial safety equipment and customised turnkey instrumentation projects. It also gives customers in chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and process manufacturing broader national coverage and deeper engineering expertise across Australia and New Zealand.
